This was a funny game, but unfortunately I only caught the second half. Spain got a lucky goal when the ball bounced off Costa as he lurked with intent, but had trouble breaking down a resolute Iran side who took every opportunity to waste time and feign injury.

The “good” news is that I left early and I made it home from work in time to catch most of this game. On the other hand, I used up the rest of this month’s data watching the first ten minutes on 4G on the walk home from the station. Anyway, enough about me - let’s move onto the match.

Group B Preview

A Boufal-less Morocco and Iran will be kicking off this group at 4pm (BST) today in Saint Petersburg (is he one of ours too?) but the biggest game so far will see reigning European champions Portugal (and our Cédric) taking on the might of Spain this evening in Sochi. I won’t be home from work in time to watch the Morocco v Iran game (fortunately?) but Portugal v Spain looks very tasty so I plan to be in situ for that one.
