Game 2: Sweden 1-0 S Korea

Well, I can't believe I devoted my afternoon to this, it was turgid.

Lots of effort on behalf of the Koreans but no real talent.

Sweden was bits of talent and not much effort, they however were obviously superior footballers if not tactically adventurous.

Basically, if you get a chance to watch the highlights of this, don't bother.

There was one spectacularly good save from a South Korean goalkeeper and one penalty awarded via VAR (correctly I might add), the rest was dull running with no end product.

If Germany and Mexico do not get out of this group then they should be ashamed of themselves, although saying that, it will be interesting to see what Mexico do against a team that aren't set up to allow them to counter-attack (Mexico that is).

Both of these teams will be on the defensive against both of the other teams in the group.

That's your lot, I can't think of anything amusing to say about this, it was just a rather bland example of why they should think about doing something with qualifying for the World Cup and, possibly, how they organise the games in the World Cup as well.

Now I'm just looking forward to the 247 goals Belgium should score against Panama at 4 o'clock…
